Happy New Year 2014 – Love Thyself

TweetWhen I got up this morning I said, “It’s a brand new year. A brand new day.” Then the geek in me came out and I proceeded to sing “Brand New Day” from Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog. Oh yes, I am very proud to be a geek. It’s a wonderful thing to be proud of who you are. Don’t hold back. When I was in high school I had a very hard time fitting in. Heck, I had a hard time fitting in through most of my youth. The geeks didn’t Read More …

Congratulations Hawai‘i!

Tweet  Today Hawai‘i passed a marriage equality bill through its last stage of our state congress. It still needs to be signed by our governor, who has the intention of signing the bill into law. Seeing no reason this will not happen, I am happy to go ahead and say thank you to all of those people who worked so hard to make this happen. I have a recipe for you next week, so keep an eye out for it. I also was given a couple new products to test, so a review on those will be coming around soon too. 1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?  Not Read More …

Finding My Own Type of Freedom

Tweet  I’ve been wanting to post this for a while, but I didn’t know when was the right time. People around me keep inspiring me in various ways to get this out there. Just this week Shauna Ahern of Gluten Free Girl inspired me again. Perhaps the time has come for some of us to share the deep, dark muck we’ve struggled through — finally emerging stronger than ever into the light on the other side. Here’s me, letting you in. It’s not easy to do. I always struggle with letting Read More …
