Yours truly is going to see Food, Inc. tonight at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. The movie has finally come to Maui, and my teacher has assigned extra credit points to the movie. So, some students and friends of mine are joining me tonight to see this important documentary.
While I know Monsanto is fighting back against statements made in this movie, I feel that it’s simply to save their own butts. Of course, on either side it is easy to cherry pick their information to sound how they want it to, but I can see the world around me and I know that supporting organic and local agriculture are the right thing. It’s what is pono for me.
Also, in the news of yours truly, I was told by the program coordinator that he’s been hearing good things about me. That makes me excited that I’m doing well enough for people to take notice. I really do want to do well. I love food. I want to see it treated with respect as much as I want to see the people who grow it and sell it treated with respect.
Now, if only I can find a way to remember what is in each mother sauce and how much of it.
