
Today was my first day as an official culinary school student. Yay! Tomorrow we start making soups. Unfortunately a lot of them will contain wheat flour in the roux, so no sampling for me.
I’m quite excited! Here I am in my uniform ready for my first day. Sorry for the bad picture. Devin took it with my iPhone while he was still half asleep in bed.
UPDATE: You may or may not know, I left culinary school after one year. Partly because there was no way for me to take the required baking courses, and I also just didn’t fit well with the style of the school.

Thank you very much Rachel. If only I could make the roux gluten free. But, that’s not economical for them. My teacher has been very open to learning about gluten free diets, and I gave him a copy of Living Without.
