Meal Plan July 9-15

Thursday Dinner:

Sweet and Sour Chicken

Friday-Wednesday (Minus Saturday):

Lentil Stew from The Gluten Free Vegan
Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
Venison Teriyaki with Mushrooms, Onions, Pineapple, Broccoli, and Red Bell Pepper and Rice
3 Color Donburi

Saturday Birthday Party:

Chips and Salsa
Corn on the Cob
Potato Chips
Mashed Sweet Potatoes
Grilled Chicken
Hot Dogs
Chocolate Pudding Cake (not gluten-free)

Normally I wouldn’t ever cook anything not gluten-free in my house, but I’m going to just be extra careful. This is my gift to a friend for his birthday. I’ll be baking and serving the cake in an aluminum foil pan, and if I can I may try to mix it in there too. I also have some plastic disposable spoons I can use to do the mixing. I may even go outside to make it. I’ve been trying to prevent gluten foods from entering my house, but with the parties we’ve been having that has been impossible. Chips containing gluten, and people needing hamburger buns keeps me from having a completely gluten-free kitchen. We do our best though, and we clean up well, so we’re doing all we can besides banning all food from entering the house.

June and July have been so busy for us here. We’ll have had 3 parties in a row come this Saturday. I’ve also been busy working on the yard again, preparing it for more food. The zucchini plant has been in the ground for a week, and it’s doing well enough. It’s nowhere near producing any vegetables, but it will be there someday. I figure someday you and I will be seeing a lot of zucchini recipes here on Gluten Free Maui.

I’ve got some great news to share with you all. I’m going to Culinary School this fall at Maui Community College. I’m looking forward to it, and I’ll be bringing my new skills to you all as things progress. I can’t wait to share this journey with you all.
