A friend of mine went to California last week and brought a box of Glutino Gluten Free Zebra Dreams cookies back for me. They’re rectangular, but are crunchy chocolate wafers with a cream filling. They remind me of Oreo cookies.
The problem is they’re a processed food with palm oils, and a lot of fat. They’re what Michael Pollan would call a food-like substance. To eat them occasionally isn’t too bad, but if I were to eat hem all of the time that would be bad for my health and the planet.
A serving size is 3 cookies, but they’re packaged in twos. A serving contains 190 calories, 9g of fat, 5.5g of saturated fat, and 16g of sugar. Not very healthy.
But they’re a nice treat, and I enjoyed them. My friend ate a pack of two, the Nerd ate a pack of two, and I ate 2 packs of two (but not at the same time).
